Who we are

Alliance Française de Cape Coast is a non-governmental and non-profit making organisation internationally recognized for the teaching and learning of French.

From a humble beginning in 1998 to a modern centre today, Alliance Française de Cape Coast is located on the University of Cape Coast campus (Cape Coast, Ghana), and can boast of one of the best environments for teaching and learning. Indeed, we use modern methodology of teaching and learning languages as well as modern equipment  that go with it to make the learning lively. Our teachers have rich experiences and receive frequent training in order to upgrade their capacities . Quality teaching and customer satisfaction are our hall marks. In fact, our network is one of the world’s biggest language Centres . The mother Alliance is Fondation Alliance Française Paris- Ile -de-France.

French language and Cultural Centre, Alliance Française de Cape Coast is a part of an international network of 816 Alliance Française in 133 countries. In Ghana, we are a part of a network of five (5) Alliance Françaises namely: Alliance Française d’Accra, Alliance Française de Kumasi, Alliance Française de Tema, Alliance Française de Takoradi.

As an established leader in the teaching of French as a foreign language, we offer general as well as customized (specific) French courses for individuals, professionals and corporate bodies from beginners to advanced level. We promote cultural diversity through the organisation of cultural activities. We are for sure a language centre where learning a foreign language is done in multiple ways.

Our classes are held from Monday to Saturday at hours and days convenient to the learner. We offer

  • one-on-one classes
  • In-house or in-corporate classes

Centre annex for the French international exams since March 2010, for the corridor Cape Coast-Takoradi, Alliance Française de Cape Coast offers as well tutorials (preparatory classes) for the following French diploma exams:

  • DELF A1 ( Beginners)
  • DELF A2 ( Elementary level)
  • DELF B1 (Average user )
  • DELF B2 (Independent user)
  • DALF C1 / DALF C2 (Autonomy or mastery in the use of  the French language)

Mission Statement

Alliance Française de Cape Coast seeks to:

  • Promote French language and Cultural diversity in Cape Coast and the Central Region at large.
  • Help all manner of persons desirous to learn French acquire the language ( professionals, students,business men and women, and any other person who would want to learn it the passion of it or for travelling purposes.)


Alliance Française de Cape Coast aims at

  • Becoming one of the major recreational and  entertaining Centres in Cape Coast.
  • Becoming the leading  French language Centre in Cape Coast and its environs
